Description
This South African cycad species is a medium-large cycad that grows up to 5 metres forming clumps of 2 or 3 stems. It has bright green leaves and yellow-green cones and is a hardy, adaptable cycad that is easy to grow in shade or full sun and handles some frost. The Encephalartos Altensteinii grows in the sub-tropics and as far south as Melbourne. It is highly ornamental and closely resembles Encephalartos Natalensis.
