The Encephalartos Ferox from Mozambique is one of the most attractive and ornamental cycads. Its’ leaves are wide, glossy, and have a deep holly-green colour. The cones are a deep red. It’s a small to medium grower that makes an excellent potted plant, but prefers sandy soil with very good drainage. The Encephalartos Ferox will grow in full sun but does prefer some shade, and it dislikes frost.
